Jessica Lange, born April 20, 1949, is an American acting legend and one of the greatest performers of all time.
She exploded onto the scene in the 1976 King Kong remake, then delivered back-to-back Oscar noms in 1982: Supporting Actress win for Tootsie and Best Actress for Frances. She grabbed her second Oscar (Best Actress) for Blue Sky in 1994, making her only the second actress ever (after Streep) to win both lead and supporting.
On TV she crushed it as Big Edie in Grey Gardens (first Emmy) and racked up four more across American Horror Story seasons (2011–2015), plus Golden Globes and a SAG. In 2016 she completed the Triple Crown of Acting with a Tony for Long Day’s Journey Into Night on Broadway.
With two Oscars, three Emmys, a Tony, five Golden Globes, and a career spanning King Kong to AHS and everything in between, she’s the definition of icon. She’s also a published photographer, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and one of the most fearless, transformative actresses Hollywood has ever seen.
